In short
Service and delivery apps charge in one of a few ways: a percentage commission (most food delivery, 15% to 30%), a percentage service fee or per-lead charge (home services), a percentage of the trip (car sharing, 10% to 40%), or a monthly membership (care). Bobby is being built on a flat fee instead: $1 per booking, or $2 for food delivery, with the provider keeping 100% of their price.
Percentage vs flat fee
A percentage fee is charged as a share of the price, so it grows with every dollar you sell. A $40 booking and a $400 booking take the same effort to match, but a percentage charges ten times as much on the larger one. That is why a busy provider or a large order feels the cost most.
A flat fee is a fixed amount per booking that does not move with the price. Bobby is being built on a flat $1 per booking across most services, added on top of the provider’s price so they keep 100 percent of what they charge, with a single documented exception of $2 for food delivery (a dollar to the restaurant and a dollar to the driver).
