How much does Angi cost contractors?
Angi (formerly Angie's List and HomeAdvisor) lets homeowners post a request for free. The cost lands on the contractors who pay to receive it. Here is how that plays out in 2026.
Pricing sourced July 2026 · Pre-launch comparison
In short
Angi runs a lead-generation model for contractors: a recurring monthly membership fee, plus a per-lead charge every time a homeowner request matches their profile. Each lead usually goes to several contractors at once, so a pro can pay for leads that never turn into work.
Angi vs a flat fee, side by side
| Angi | Bobby (pre-launch) | |
|---|---|---|
| Fee model | Monthly membership + pay per lead | Flat fee per completed booking |
| When the pro pays | Monthly, plus on each matched lead | Only when a booking happens |
| Lead exclusivity | Leads are typically sold to multiple contractors | A booking is the customer choosing one provider |
| Cost of a job that never lands | Membership and lead charges still apply | Nothing |
A worked example
Say you are matched to several homeowner requests this month and win one job.
Angi: You pay the monthly membership plus a charge for each matched lead, and because leads are shared you may be one of several contractors who paid for the same request, so your cost stands whether or not you win.
Bobby (being built): Under Bobby's planned model there is no membership and no lead charge. You pay a flat $1 only when a booking actually happens.
A contractor on Angi usually pays a recurring monthly fee just to be on the platform, then a separate charge each time a homeowner request matches their profile. The same request often sells to several contractors, so more than one pro pays for the same lead, even though the homeowner may only ever hire one of them.
So a contractor's spend drifts apart from the work they actually win. The membership and the lead charges apply whether or not a lead converts, and a slow month of dead leads still carries the full cost.
A booking-based model ties cost to outcome instead. Bobby is being built with no membership and no lead fees, just a flat $1 when a booking actually happens, so a provider never pays to chase a job they do not land.
