Babysitters in New York City.

Background-checked sitters at launch, their rate, plus Bobby’s flat $1 fee (never a percentage).

Nothing matters more than knowing who is watching your kids. Bobby is being built so NYC parents can find a sitter they actually trust, every one identity-verified and background-checked before they ever meet your children. Planned date night, or the nanny who bailed an hour before your meeting? Either way, you see the sitter’s rate upfront, and Bobby adds a flat $1, never a commission. The sitter keeps their whole rate.

The math, both ways

A flat $1 fee, whichever side you are on.

Here is how a four-hour evening sitter works on Bobby, for the customer and for the sitter. Drag the price to see it at any job size. Same flat fee, no percentage cut, ever.

$100

If you book it (customer)

Sitter's price$100
Bobby fee+ $1
Card processingat cost
Price + Bobby fee$101

The sitter keeps 100% of their price. Bobby's fee is a flat $1, never a percentage. Standard card processing is billed at cost, and your full total is shown before you confirm.

If you provide it (sitter)

Your price$100
Bobby's cut from you$0
You keep$100

A typical 25% app would take $25 of this job. On Bobby, all $100 stays yours.

What you keep as a sitter, side by side

On Bobby
100%

You keep all $100. No percentage, ever. The flat $1 fee is the customer's, added on top.

A typical 25% app
75%

They take $25 out of this one job. You keep just three quarters of your own work.

Example only, not a quote. Sitters set their own price; the flat $1 fee is what stays fixed.

What you get

Everything, one flat fee.

  • Background-checked, identity-verified sitters at launch
  • Reviews and ratings from other NYC parents
  • Date-night, after-school, and last-minute care
  • In-app chat, so you can vet a sitter before they ever arrive
  • Their rate plus Bobby’s flat $1 fee, with no percentage skim
How it works

Three steps.

  1. Tell Bobby what you need

Give the date, the hours, and your kids’ ages. The sitter’s rate is right there before you commit.

  2. Get matched with a vetted sitter

A sitter nearby, background-checked before day one, accepts. You can message them first.

  3. Pay in the app

Pay by card once the job is done. The sitter keeps 100%, and Bobby keeps one dollar.

The $1 difference

Why New Yorkers are choosing Bobby.

Finding a sitter in this city usually means begging in the building group chat, or handing an agency a fat markup for the privilege. Bobby's plan cuts out the middleman without cutting a single corner on safety. Every sitter is identity-verified and background-checked before their first job. You see their rate before you book. Bobby’s fee is one flat dollar, never a percentage. You get someone you can trust with your kids, and the sitter keeps their full rate instead of losing a chunk to a platform.

Questions, answered

Babysitting FAQ

Are the sitters really background-checked?
Yes. Every sitter is identity-verified and background-checked before they can take a job, with two-way ratings and parent reviews at launch, so you can choose with real confidence.
What if I need someone tonight?
Both, that is the whole idea. When Bobby launches, the Saturday date night you planned weeks ago and the 6pm scramble after your regular sitter cancels are both covered. You will see who is free and their rate before you book. It is not live yet, so join the launch list to be first when it is.
What does a sitter cost?
You pay the sitter’s rate plus a flat $1, never a percentage, along with standard card processing billed at cost. The sitter sets their own rate and keeps all of it, and the full price is on screen before you commit.
Can I book a sitter right now?
Not yet. Bobby is getting the New York City launch ready and finishing the required registrations and licensing. Join the launch list, and you will be among the first to book a sitter when we go live near you.
