How much does StyleSeat charge?
Listing on StyleSeat is free, so where does the money go? Three places: a monthly subscription, a cut of each new client the platform sends your way, and card processing. Here is how that adds up in 2026.
Pricing sourced July 2026 · Pre-launch comparison
In short
For professionals, StyleSeat comes with three costs: a $35 monthly subscription, a new-client fee of 30% (capped at $50) on first-time clients booked through its search network, and card processing of about 2.5% + $0.30. That new-client fee only hits first-timers who found you through StyleSeat, not the clients who return or book you directly.
StyleSeat vs a flat fee, side by side
| StyleSeat | Bobby (pre-launch) | |
|---|---|---|
| Fee model | Monthly subscription + new-client fee | Flat fee per booking |
| New client from the platform | 30% fee, up to $50 | Flat $1 per booking |
| Monthly cost | $35 per month | None |
| What the pro keeps | Their price minus the fees | 100% of their price |
A worked example
Take a $100 first-time haircut booked through the platform.
StyleSeat: A 30% new-client fee takes $30 of that $100 (capped at $50), on top of the $35 monthly subscription and card processing.
Bobby (being built): On the flat model Bobby is building, the fee is $1. The barber keeps the full $100 and the client pays $101, with no monthly subscription.
The big one is the new-client fee. It takes 30 percent of the first booking from anyone who found you through StyleSeat, up to $50. Add the $35 monthly subscription and card processing of roughly 2.5 percent plus 30 cents on top. Returning clients and people who book you directly never trigger that fee, so the pain lands squarely on new growth.
A flat per-booking model charges the same small amount every time, whether the client is new or not. Bobby is being built on a flat $1 per booking added on top of the pro price, so the barber or stylist keeps 100 percent of what they charge. No monthly subscription, and no bigger cut just for landing a new client.
