Home improvement in New York City.

Licensed pros, a real quote first, one flat $1 fee.

The leak that won’t quit. The shelf that’s been leaning against the wall for a month. The bathroom you keep putting off because you don’t know who to call. The hard part was never the work. It’s finding someone who shows up, does it right, and doesn’t pad the bill. Bobby is being built to connect New Yorkers with vetted, licensed pros who send photos of past jobs and a real quote before anyone picks up a tool. You approve the price, they do the work, and the fee is a flat $1.

The math, both ways

A flat $1 fee, whichever side you are on.

Here is how a half-day handyman job works on Bobby, for the customer and for the pro. Drag the price to see it at any job size. Same flat fee, no percentage cut, ever.

$180

If you book it (customer)

Pro's price$180
Bobby fee+ $1
Card processingat cost
Price + Bobby fee$181

The pro keeps 100% of their price. Bobby's fee is a flat $1, never a percentage. Standard card processing is billed at cost, and your full total is shown before you confirm.

If you provide it (pro)

Your price$180
Bobby's cut from you$0
You keep$180

A typical 25% app would take $45 of this job. On Bobby, all $180 stays yours.

What you keep as a pro, side by side

On Bobby
100%

You keep all $180. No percentage, ever. The flat $1 fee is the customer's, added on top.

A typical 25% app
75%

They take $45 out of this one job. You keep just three quarters of your own work.

Example only, not a quote. Pros set their own price; the flat $1 fee is what stays fixed.

What you get

Everything, one flat fee.

  • Vetted, background-checked, licensed pros at launch
  • Photos of past work and a written quote before you commit to anything
  • Repairs, installs, mounting, painting, and full remodels
  • In-app chat and secure card payment
  • Your price is your price, never a percentage of the job
How it works

Three steps.

  1. Describe the job

Snap a photo of the busted faucet or the bare wall, tell Bobby what you need, and a quote comes back.

  2. Pick your pro

Compare licensed, reviewed pros near you, scroll through their past work, and pick the one you trust in your home.

  3. Approve and pay

You okay the price before any work starts. Pay by card in the app, the pro keeps 100%, and Bobby takes a flat $1.

The $1 difference

Why New Yorkers are choosing Bobby.

The gig apps take a 15 to 30 percent cut of every job, and guess who pays for it. The contractor bakes it right back into your quote, so you overpay and the pro still comes up short. Bobby flips that. One flat $1 per booking. The pro keeps their full price. You see the quote and their past work before you say yes. Nobody pads the number to feed a platform. Fair for the person paying, and for the person swinging the hammer.

Home Improvement FAQ

How much will a home improvement job cost on Bobby?
You pay the pro’s quoted price plus a flat $1 booking fee, never a percentage of the job, along with standard card processing billed at cost and shown in your total before you confirm. The pro sets the quote and keeps every dollar of it, and you approve the price before any work starts.
Are Bobby’s handymen and contractors licensed?
Yes. Every pro on Bobby is identity-verified, background-checked, and license-verified for the work they take on. You’ll see two-way ratings and photos of past jobs, so you know exactly who’s walking into your home.
Can I see a quote before I commit?
That’s the whole point. When Bobby launches, you send photos of the job, get a written quote back, and approve the price before anyone starts. No mystery number at the end.
Is Bobby available yet?
Not yet. Bobby is getting the New York City launch ready and finishing the required registrations and licensing. Join the launch list, and you’ll be first in line to book a pro when we go live near you.
